The 1st International Symposium on Advanced Synthesis and Processing Technology for Materials (ASPT08) will be held in November 14-17, 2008, at Wuhan University of Technology in Wuhan, China. ASPT08 will cover recent outstanding advancements in synthesis and processing of inorganic materials using non-traditional technologies such as SHS, SPS, mechanical alloying, wet chemistry, aerosol deposition and techniques involving laser, microwave, plasma, electron beam and high-field magnetron etc. Topic will include the following three main areas.
● Low dimensional materials

○ film or coating
● Materials with designed structures
○ functionally graded materials
○ layered materials
○ materials with core/shell structures
● Ceramics
○ non-oxide structural ceramics
