The 2nd International Symposium on Energy and Environmental Photocatalytic Materials Held in WUT
From April 1st to April 4th, the 2nd International Symposium on Energy and Environmental Photocatalytic Materials (EEPM2 for short) sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China was held in WUT. The chairmen of the symposium are Prof. Yu Jiaguo of WUT State Key Laboratory of Advanced Technology for Materials Synthesis and Processing and Prof. MietekJaroniec from the Department of Chemistry of Kent State University, USA. The symposium attracted many faculty and students in related areas and over 270 specialists and scholars from 15 countries and regions including the USA, Poland, Australia, Greece, Malaysia, Japan, Korea and Singapore.
On the opening ceremony, Prof. Yu Jiaguo extended cordial welcome and sincere thanks to delegates and sponsors of the symposium and then introduced the agenda of the symposium. He stated that the symposium aimed at providing a platform for specialists and peers in the area of photocatalyticmaterials from around the world to learn and communicate with each other. The symposiums also aimed at discussing development trend of photocatalyticmaterials preparative techniques and application by summarizing current research achievements in the areas of energy, environment and photocatalyticmaterials.
During the 4-day symposium, delegates exchanged ideas in depth and in broad terms on topics including photocatalytic degradation of pollutants, photocatalytic hydrogen production, preparation of photocatalytic CO2 reduction solar fuel, photocatalytic material surface modification and doping, morphology regulation of photocatalytic material, first-principles calculation of photocatalytic material and dye-sensitized solar cell. The symposium included 5 plenary lectures, 13 keynote speeches, 13 invited lectures, 11 oral reports and exhibited 145 posters. A proceeding on abstracts of the symposium was published. Meanwhile, 10 Outstanding Poster Awards were elected by the International Scientific Committee of the symposium and the authors of awarded posters were issued with certificates and rewards. Manufacturers including PerfectLight Co. Ltd and LumaSense Technologies demonstrated products for researching photocatalytic materials.
It’s reported that papers of the symposium will be published on the part of Energy and Environmental Photocatalytic Materials of Applied Surface Science, a collected journal of SCI (ASS for short, IF of 2.711). According to 2015 JCR Jorunal Impact Factors and Distributions (Chinese Academy of Sciences SCI Journal distribution table), ASS belongs to the second category. The 3rd International Symposium on Energy and Environmental Photocatalytic Materials will be held in Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland in June, 2018.
