Francis Verpoort(王光明),教授,博士生导师,在国际知名期刊如 Chem. Rev.,Chem. Soc. Rev.,Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy. Mater., Coord. Chem. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.上发表了 350 多篇高水平论文,总引用次数接近13000次,H因子为60,拥有20余项授权发明专利,成功开发出 2 个商品化催化剂;当选欧洲科学与艺术院(EASA)院士、国际工程技术协会(IETI)“杰出会士”、英国皇家艺术协会会士、亚洲科学编辑委员会顾问;担任“应用金属有机化学”等 8 个国际期刊的副主编或编委,荣获比利时国王亲自颁发的表彰证书、国际先进材料协会 IAAM 奖章、印度化学会Basudev Banerjee纪念奖、湖北省特聘专家;担任;入选俄罗斯联邦政府的“高层次专家”、武汉市“黄鹤英才计划”、武汉市“城市合伙人”、武汉理工大学高层次人才。

1. 金属有机催化功能材料:包括金属有机配合物,金属有机骨架(MOFs)及其衍生材料,多孔有机聚合物(POPs)等;
2. 绿色化学:利用催化剂将CO2转化为化工新产品与高分子材料;
3. 高分子材料和复合材料:致力于利用催化剂合成各类高分子材料与复合材料;
4. 能源方面:主要致力于水分解反应催化剂的研发;
5. 有机合成与药物设计:主要致力于化合物库的合理设计与合成以发现具有生物活性的化合物。
